kind of sad that when you criticize something someone likes (or the company/person behind it), half the time they don’t think “hmm, this is someone else’s perspective. this doesn’t have to change my perspective unless i find it true. besides, i’m an adult and i’m more than the media i enjoy”, but instead go into poo poo panic defense mode like “man i really gotta pretend this person is directly telling me i can’t harmlessly enjoy this particular thing i like so they can’t criticize it, and by extension criticize me because i don’t know how to have a personality outside of the media i consume because capitalism has me so fucked up and willfully stupid i could never think of myself as anything more!” :/
